Rubin Colwill's stunning stoppage-time free-kick rescued a point for Cardiff City as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wrexham in a dramatic Championship opener. Jack Moylan was the standout performer on his league debut for the Bluebirds.
Moylan impresses on debut
Moylan grew into the game after a quiet opening, showing excellent touches and driving forward from midfield. He created opportunities, linked well with his team-mates and forced a save from Anthony Patterson after cutting inside, earning him the star man rating.
Colwill's late impact
Colwill came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute and produced the moment of the night with a sensational free-kick into the top corner in the eighth minute of stoppage time. His contribution was described as match-saving.
Other performers
Nathan Trott made important interventions, including a save with his legs from Callum Doyle, while Calum Scanlon was one of Cardiff's better performers, making important tackles. Joel Colwill also added energy after coming on, playing his part in the late revival.
Several players struggled to make a significant impact, including Cian Ashford in the No.10 role and Ollie Tanner, whose crosses often hit the first defender. Gabriel Osho played Moore onside for the opening goal and was booked later in the first half.
Ronan Kpakio's ball towards the back post led to Dom Hyam's recovering header crashing against the crossbar in the sequence before Colwill's equaliser.
