Cardiff City Report Racist Abuse to Police After Match Halt

Cardiff City have reported an incident of alleged racist abuse to South Wales Police after their League One match against Lincoln City was halted on Saturday. The game at Cardiff City Stadium was stopped for over three minutes in the 55th minute following an allegation involving a home supporter and Lincoln City captain Tendayi Darikwa.

The club conducted an internal investigation and released a statement on Tuesday confirming they are working to identify an individual believed to have made a racist gesture from a seat in the Ninian Stand, Block 116. Cardiff described the behaviour as “repugnant” and reiterated their zero-tolerance approach to racism and discrimination.

Cardiff urged the person involved to make themselves known to the club, while also asking supporters to provide any information that could help identify them. The club has reported the incident to the relevant governing bodies and police.
