Carabao Cup draw: Everton and Liverpool learn round three foes

Everton and Liverpool will discover their Carabao Cup third round opponents on Wednesday night, with the draw scheduled to take place after Everton's match at Preston North End.

Everton's path to the draw

David Moyes' side travel to Deepdale with kick-off at 8pm, needing to beat Preston to reach the third round for the 25th consecutive season. The last time Everton failed to progress to this stage was in 2001, when they lost to Crystal Palace on penalties.

Should Everton win, they will be ball number 30 in the third-round draw, which is set to take place immediately after the match at approximately 10:15pm.
