Bruno Fernandes' long-term future at Manchester United has been a subject of speculation, despite his consistent performances. The 31-year-old has registered eight goals and 17 assists this season, but reports of a potential departure have persisted.
Last year, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal prepared a £100m offer for Fernandes, along with a staggering £700,000-per-week contract. United were open to the sale, which reportedly 'hurt' Fernandes, but the bid was never officially tabled.
Fernandes' contract includes a £56.68m release clause, which can only be triggered by foreign clubs. While this may deter some European teams, it would not be an obstacle for Saudi clubs. Renewed interest from the Middle East is expected this summer.
United's stance has now shifted towards keeping Fernandes, with the club planning to open contract discussions. His current deal runs until 2027, with an option to extend by 12 months. Fernandes is reportedly more settled since Michael Carrick took charge in January.
