Andy Woodman has been dismissed as manager of Bromley after a poor start to the season, despite leading the club to League One for the first time in their history last season. The EFL side have won just two games in all competitions this campaign.
Club chairman thanks Woodman
Owner and Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves said: “I would firstly like to offer my sincere thanks to Andy for all he has achieved during his time with us.
“It’s no surprise that this club has reached new heights and Andy has been fundamental in helping us achieve that. I would like to reassure our supporters that we will be entering this new chapter with the same ambition and determination to keep moving this football club forward.
“On a personal note, Andy has been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the best for the future.”
Interim appointment and Woodman's background
Byron Webster will take charge on an interim basis whilst the club appoint a permanent replacement.
Woodman, who is father of Liverpool shot-stopper Freddie Woodman, was a goalkeeper coach and Head of Goalkeeping at Arsenal before being appointed as Bromley manager in 2021. During his time with the Ravens, he won three trophies and guided them into the Football League for the first time in their history.
