Bradley Barcola has made a move to Liverpool his priority should he depart Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The Reds remain far apart from reaching an agreement with the Champions League winners, however.
Transfer Stance
Liverpool are in the market to improve their options on the wing, while the French international has already refused to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes. Barcola's deal expires in 2028.
PSG and the 23-year-old are open to his exit, with Liverpool being the forward's preference, according to RMC Sport. Andoni Iraola is said to be impressed with the star's profile, and Barcola has become a top target.
Verbal Offers Rejected
The Reds have made verbal offers to their Ligue 1 counterparts, but they have so far fallen well short of PSG's demands. Luis Enrique's side are demanding £145.6million for Barcola.
The club's asking price takes into account the mega-money transfers for Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa to Chelsea and Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City. Only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have moved for greater fees than the one they're demanding for Barcola, with PSG proving to be the buyer in each case.
Interest Elsewhere
Liverpool are not the only side to have enquired over a move for Barcola. Arsenal are also noted to have enquired over his availability, but the Gunners are primarily targeting Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.
It has been suggested that PSG could soften their stance on Barcola's asking price, having opened talks with Ajax for winger Mika Godts and closed in on a transfer for Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche. The alternative figure is still a lofty £128.5m.
Iraola's Admission
It is claimed that the Reds would not be deterred by a deal worth more than £100m. Barcola has reportedly given his verbal commitment to the transfer.
Speaking last month, Iraola admitted his side required a winger in the coming weeks. "When the market is open, you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad," Iraola said.
"There are obvious situations where we need to sign players. Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger.
"But there are other situations where we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have.
"We have some tricky positions where we have injured players that we trust, but it is still not the ideal situation, so it will depend on a lot of things."
