The deadline for Barcelona to activate the clause is June 15, but a decision is now expected between the conclusion of the World Cup and the start of pre-season. United have made clear they will not renegotiate the terms, and sources close to Rashford believe the deadline will pass without an agreement.
Rashford, who is competing with Gordon for a starting spot on England's left wing, has attracted interest from Arsenal and Bayern Munich this summer.
