Marcus Rashford's hopes of a permanent move to Barcelona may have been revived, with reports suggesting Brazilian winger Raphinha could leave the Catalan club. The Manchester United forward joined Barcelona on loan in the summer with a £26m purchase option, which expired after the club opted not to activate it.
Rashford, 28, scored 14 goals this season but Barcelona instead signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £70m. However, according to Brazilian outlet GE Globo, Saudi side Al-Hilal are interested in signing Raphinha, who is reportedly open to talks after the World Cup.
If Raphinha departs, Barcelona could revisit a move for Rashford, though they would need to negotiate a new deal with United. The Red Devils value the England international at around £40m and are unwilling to sanction another loan. Rashford is expected to hold talks with United officials about his future, having been blocked from joining Manchester City or Liverpool.
Raphinha, 29, previously rejected a Saudi move in 2024 but may reconsider this time. He recently criticised media speculation about his future, telling ESPN: “Ever since I arrived at Barcelona, from day one there’s been speculation that I’m going to leave this club. I think people don’t really like seeing me here.”
