Kick-off time and TV coverage
The Champions League clash is scheduled to begin at 8pm (UK time) on Tuesday. Pre-match television coverage is expected to start an hour beforehand at 7pm, offering comprehensive build-up and expert analysis.
Team news and recent form
United arrive at this fixture after a disappointing 1-1 Premier League stalemate against a 10-man Tottenham outfit on Saturday. Although Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead, they surrendered a stoppage-time leveller to Dominic Solanke at Old Trafford.
Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, will bring confidence into Tuesday's contest following a 2-1 away triumph over Alaves in La Liga on Saturday. Defender Cristian Romero emerged as the match-winner for Atleti, netting an 86th-minute decider to clinch maximum points.
United will make the trip to Spain without midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who remains sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury, while Benjamin Sesko continues to struggle with a shin complaint. The squad's defensive resources are also being stretched, with Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui both ruled out due to back problems, and Patrick Dorgu unlikely to return before November at the earliest after picking up a thigh injury.
