Aston Villa target Tammy Abraham as Emery seeks new striker

Aston Villa have expressed interest in signing Besiktas striker Tammy Abraham, as manager Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new season.

Emery confirmed the club are seeking a traditional striker following the departure of Donyell Malen, who joined AS Roma on loan with an obligation to buy. Malen had made only seven league starts during his year at Villa Park.

The Spaniard emphasised the need for competition for Ollie Watkins, citing previous examples such as Danny Ings and Jhon Duran. He stated that the priority is to bring in a central striker who can either compete with Watkins or play alongside him.

Abraham, who previously played in the Premier League for Chelsea, has been identified as a potential target to fill that role, with Villa officials reportedly travelling to Turkey for discussions.
