Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been cleared of rape allegations after a Spanish court dismissed the case against him. The Ghanaian international, who was previously on bail, is now free from legal constraints as the investigation concludes without charges.
The 30-year-old footballer was accused of sexual assault following an incident in Spain last year. However, after reviewing the evidence, the court in Villarreal determined there was insufficient grounds to proceed with prosecution.
Football Career Back on Track
With the legal matter resolved, Partey can now fully concentrate on his professional career at Arsenal. The defensive midfielder has been a key player for Mikel Arteta's side since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
"This has been an incredibly difficult period for Thomas and his family," a source close to the player revealed. "He's maintained his innocence throughout and is relieved to put this behind him."
Club's Support During Investigation
Arsenal stood by their player during the investigation, allowing him to continue training and playing while the legal process unfolded. The club has yet to release an official statement following the court's decision.
Football analysts suggest the resolution of the case could see Partey regain his best form, having shown flashes of his dominant midfield presence during pre-season preparations.
