Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman has been awarded three Guinness World Records for his role in the Gunners' Premier League-winning 2025/26 campaign.
The youngster broke into Mikel Arteta's first team early in the campaign, playing half an hour off the bench in the August defeat of Leeds before starting against Brighton in the Carabao Cup eight weeks later. His first senior goal came in March, with an impressive solo effort on the break at home to Everton. In November, before his 16th birthday, he appeared in the Champions League defeat of Slavia Prague.
Record-breaking achievements
Dowman finished the campaign with six Premier League appearances, earning him a winner's medal, and was later named in the matchday squad for the Champions League final.
He has now been recognised for his first senior campaign with a trio of Guinness World Records: youngest-ever Premier League champion (16 years and 144 days), youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer (16 years and 73 days), and youngest player ever to grace the Champions League (15 years and 308 days).
In becoming the youngest-ever Champions League player, he breaks the previous record held by Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko by just 75 days.
Loan speculation and future plans
Dowman has also made a strong start to this campaign, scoring a brace as Arsenal dispatched Ipswich 4-2 in the Carabao Cup.
Despite his young age, Dowman continues to impress and could be sent out on loan as early as January. He will be eligible to do so when he turns 17 on December 31, and a number of clubs are said to have contacted Arsenal to express interest. The Gunners are not thought to have any immediate plans to send him out, though.
"We will evaluate every six months where we are and what is the best thing for him to do and then make the right decision," Arteta said of Dowman last month. "It depends on a lot of factors. What he needs, and what the team needs as well, the availability we have in the squad, the minutes that he is playing and the qualities of those minutes. We have to be open, but now the focus is to be here and to impact the team."
