Arsenal have discovered their Champions League quarter-final opponents as Sporting CP sealed their place with a comeback victory over Bodo/Glimt.
Mikel Arteta's side progressed through the round of 16 with a 3-1 aggregate win over Bayer Leverkusen, after topping the league phase with a perfect eight wins. The first leg in Germany ended 1-1 after Kai Havertz's late penalty cancelled out Robert Andrich's opener, while goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice secured a 2-0 win in the second leg.
Sporting overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Bodo/Glimt, levelling the aggregate score in the second leg through Goncalo Inacio, Pedro Goncalves and Luis Javier Suarez, before extra-time goals from Maximiliano Araujo and Rafael Nel sealed a 5-3 aggregate win.
The first leg of the quarter-final will be played at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on April 7 or 8, with the return leg at the Emirates Stadium a week later.
Arsenal are on the blue side of the draw, avoiding heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid and holders Paris Saint-Germain on their potential path to the final.
