Noni Madueke has pushed his case to start for Arsenal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night after scoring the winner as a substitute in the win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The Gunners travel to Germany to face Vincent Kompany's side in a Champions League showdown at the Allianz Arena, with kick-off at 8pm BST on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports.
Madueke's Case for a Start
Eberechi Eze started on the left wing against Nottingham Forest but struggled and was replaced at half-time. Madueke came off the bench to score the winner and has looked bright in his appearances on that flank.
Mikel Arteta is unlikely to make wholesale changes, but his squad is strong enough to rotate slightly without weakening the side.
Predicted Lineup and Injury News
Jurrien Timber is likely to come in at right-back as he continues to share minutes with Ben White. In midfield, Myles Lewis-Skelly will hope to get his chance over Bruno Guimaraes, while Martin Zubimendi is available again after a minor hamstring issue.
However, Arteta has handed Zubimendi limited minutes this season, and it would be a surprise if he started him in Arsenal's toughest test of the campaign so far.
Kai Havertz has not been at his best since the international break, leaving Arteta with a decision to make up front. Viktor Gyokeres, who is yet to score for Arsenal this season, has started both Champions League matches this season.
Arteta so often turns to Havertz in the biggest games, and there is every chance he does so again in Munich.
Predicted Arsenal XI
