Eberechi Eze has declared he is ready to chase silverware with Arsenal and England after scoring his third international goal in a 2-0 win over Serbia. The 26-year-old, who completed a £60m transfer from Crystal Palace to Arsenal last summer, came off the bench to find the net at Wembley.
Eze credited both Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and England manager Thomas Tuchel for his development. 'Playing at the highest level helps you get better. You think quicker, you play better,' he said. 'I feel like it's definitely helped me. From last season, growing, coming up more as a complete player.'
The midfielder highlighted similarities in the defensive structures of club and country. 'The level of intensity of thought, being steps ahead in the game, understanding the game differently — that's been a huge plus,' Eze added. 'Both managers are very intense, very aware of the details.'
With Arsenal top of the Premier League and England yet to concede in World Cup qualifying, Eze is optimistic about the future. 'It's good to be part of these squads where the players at the back are so solid. You control the game and have plenty of opportunities,' he said. 'I pray to God it continues.'
Eze, who can play across the front line, is determined to make an impact. 'Whatever opportunity you get, you have to work with it,' he stated. 'I see myself as an attacking player — left, 10, right, striker, eight — I'm going to do my job: score, assist, create.'
