Noni Madueke, starting in place of the injured Bukayo Saka, failed to make an impact. The winger did not complete a dribble or find a key pass, and his only effort on goal was blocked. He was substituted before the hour mark as Arsenal chased a second goal.
Gyokeres's brace made it goals in back-to-back Premier League matches for the first time this season, taking his tally to 13 in 32 appearances. The Swedish striker arrived with high expectations and now faces genuine competition for the centre-forward position from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.
