The visitors appeared in control after taking a two-goal lead, but Wolves responded with two first Premier League goals. Hugo Bueno scored his first for the club, while 19-year-old substitute Tom Edozie thought he had scored his first on his Premier League debut, with the goal initially credited as a Riccardo Calafiori own goal before being awarded to Edozie. The teenager described the moment as a "dream come true".
Edwards praised his team's character, acknowledging it was only a draw but stressing the quality of the comeback. "To come back from 2-0 down against one of the best teams in Europe is pretty special," he said, while also calling for "a little bit of realism" from supporters. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was far less satisfied, admitting his side "didn't perform at any level" in the second half. "Too many things went wrong one after the other," he said. "We paid the price."
Bukayo Saka described the dressing room as "very flat" and said the performance was "far from the level we have set this season." He insisted the team needed to "fix the issues immediately" and return to winning ways. The pressure of the title race was not a factor, he added: "I don't think about big prizes and pressure; we just need to get back to our level."
The result marks a significant turnaround for Wolves, who remain bottom but have lost only three of their last 11 games. Both Bueno and Edozie scored their first Premier League goals, with Bueno joking: "It took me a little longer than him." Arsenal now face a crucial test away to Tottenham in their next match, a game Arteta believes will show "how much we want it."
