Arne Slot provides cautious update on Mohamed Salah injury
Arne Slot cautious on Mohamed Salah injury after Palace win

Arne Slot has offered a cautious update on Mohamed Salah after the forward was forced off during Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace with a suspected hamstring injury. The Egyptian, who is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season, pulled up in pain during the second half at Anfield on Saturday.

Slot's assessment of the injury

Speaking after the match, Slot admitted that seeing Salah leave the pitch was concerning. "We all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something but we have to wait and see how bad it is," the head coach said.

Slot added: "We don't know. That is the best answer I can give. If I say there might be a chance, that is probably all the headlines that there might be a chance so we simply don't know but what we do know is that the season in four weeks is over. Not a lot of games are being played so we have to wait and see how his injury is and if he can return to play."

Salah's fitness and recovery

The Liverpool manager praised Salah's professionalism, noting that the 33-year-old has always taken excellent care of his body. "What I do know about Mo is he has taken so good care of his body all these years that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury and let's hope for the best, that he is available in the last part," Slot said.

Liverpool's remaining fixtures

Liverpool have four remaining Premier League matches this season, against Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Brentford. The club will assess Salah's hamstring injury to determine if he can feature in any of those games.

Salah's legacy at Liverpool

Since joining from Roma in 2017, Salah has shattered records at Liverpool, scoring 257 goals. He was the unanimous player of the year last season as the Reds won the Premier League title. However, this campaign has been more challenging for both Salah and the club. In December, the forward gave an explosive interview accusing the club of throwing him "under the bus," though he later apologised. Now, he awaits news on whether he has played his final game in Liverpool colours.
