Footage showed Antony shouting and raising his arms at home fans following Betis' goals, prompting Sevilla supporters to retaliate by throwing bottles and other objects at his box. The tense atmosphere escalated further when Sevilla winger Isaac Romero was shown a straight red card with eight minutes remaining for a dangerous challenge on Betis' Valentin Gomez.
The unrest forced referee Jose Luis Mubuera Montero to suspend the match for 15 minutes before the teams returned to play out the final moments.
