Ruben Amorim Eyes Matheus Cunha Reunion with £30m Andre Transfer

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to reunite Matheus Cunha with his former Wolves teammate Andre, who could be available for just £30 million this summer. The Brazilian midfielder, 24, joined Wolves from Fluminense in August 2024 for £15 million but has attracted interest from United, Liverpool, and Juventus after an impressive debut season.

Andre formed a strong midfield partnership with Joao Gomes at Wolves, completing 93 per cent of his passes in the Premier League and winning 59 per cent of his duels. He averaged six recoveries and three tackles per match, earning praise from former Wolves star Dave Edwards, who described him as “one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.”

Andre and Cunha, who joined United in a £62.5 million move last month, played together at Wolves and are both part of the Brazil national team. Their close relationship on and off the pitch helped produce standout performances, with Cunha scoring 17 goals and providing six assists last season. Andre’s defensive work was credited with creating space for Cunha to thrive in the final third.

Edwards highlighted Andre’s passion for defensive actions, saying: “He celebrates it like a goal… every team needs players who do that. He is one of the best number sixes in the league.” The report suggests that reuniting the duo at Old Trafford could be a dream scenario for Amorim, with Andre’s style fitting perfectly into United’s system.
