Samuel West has delighted fans with behind-the-scenes photographs from the set of All Creatures Great and Small season seven. The actor, who plays Siegfried Farnon in the beloved period drama, shared images on social media showing co-stars Callum Woodhouse and Rachel Shenton in character.
Filming for the seventh series began in February, with a double commission already confirmed for series seven and eight, each comprising six one-hour episodes plus Christmas specials. While a broadcast date has not yet been announced, new episodes are expected to arrive in autumn, following the pattern of previous series.
In one snap, Callum Woodhouse, who portrays Tristan Farnon, is seen relaxing in a cosy armchair, smiling at the camera. Another image shows Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot, looking elegant in a red blouse and navy skirt, with her eyes closed. West cheekily captioned the latter: 'Tell me you’ve got a one-year-old without telling me you’ve got a one-year-old #1: Rach.'
West also shared a photo of himself holding a small rat while dressed in Siegfried's trademark tweed three-piece suit, writing: 'And finally, the real star of the show. Plus some guy in a suit.' Fans expressed excitement in the comments, with one saying: 'Can't wait for you guys to grace my screen.'
Channel 5 has kept plot details under wraps, but commissioning editor Greg Barnett teased: 'There are many new stories still to tell and more unforgettable adventures ahead.' The series, based on James Herriot's books about a vet in rural Yorkshire, continues to be a ratings success for the broadcaster.
