After sinking the last putt of the tournament, the two-gloved native of Wolverhampton walked off the green in a moment of subtle triumph. Rai saluted the crowd before strolling into the arms of his wife, Gaurika Bishnoi. The couple shared a long embrace, and she took his face into her hands and kissed him.
Who is Gaurika Bishnoi?
Gaurika Bishnoi is a professional golfer herself, competing on the Ladies European Tour and India's Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour. Across her career, she has played in nine LET tournaments and logged a pair of top-ten finishes. American audiences best know her for her strong iron game, which she displayed at the Masters Par-3 Contest in 2025 and 2026. Last year, she grabbed headlines by sticking a shot close to the pin, stunning both Rai and the crowd. She took a shot again at this year's Par-3 tournament, which Rai would go on to win.
Golf Brought Them Together
According to reports, the two met for the first time due to their shared interests in the sport. They have also been connected through the DLF Golf and Country Club in India. Rai has previously praised Bishnoi for being a positive impact on his game. 'It's hard for me to really sum up how much of an effect she's had on me as a person, and also that actually feeds into my golf,' Rai said, per The Mirror. After Rai had Bishnoi on the bag for the Par-3 contest, he even returned the favor for her during an event she was competing in.
They Tied the Knot in 2025
When Bishnoi hit that shot at the Masters Par-3 contest, she was identified as his wife, but her name was not known. In reality, the couple hadn't yet gotten married, only tying the knot in July of 2025. Bishnoi and Rai exchanged vows during a lavish Indian wedding ceremony at Hedsor House, near London. Rai reflected on 2025 as one of the most important years of his life, according to The Mirror. 'This year has been truly special with us getting married, caddying for her, being with her, getting married, practicing and playing together,' Rai told the outlet. 'It's just a peaceful thing to be able to share different parts of our lives with one another and being with each other every step of the way. Yeah, very special.'
