Bookmakers William Hill have unveiled a £500,000 bonus that could see the 2026 Randox Grand National winner claim a record £1 million prize. The extra incentive applies to any horse that triumphs in one of three nominated trial races and subsequently wins the Aintree marathon on April 11.
The nominated trials include the Becher Chase at Aintree on December 6, the Classic Chase at Warwick on January 10, 2026, and the Grand National Trial at Haydock on February 14, 2026. Only horses that win one of these contests and then prevail in the Grand National will qualify for the bonus.
William Hill’s Director of Racing, Mark Howarth, said: “We are thrilled to launch the William Hill Half A Mill bonus this season. The Grand National has a special place in the British sporting calendar and we’re excited to further elevate the build-up.” He added that the prize injection is a real incentive for connections plotting a route to glory.
The 2025 Grand National winner, Nick Rockett, trained by Willie Mullins, is currently priced at 25-1 to complete a double. Meanwhile, the current favourite for the 2026 race is Haiti Couleurs, trained by Rebecca Curtis, who made a successful comeback this week.
The Grand National, watched by an estimated 600 million people worldwide, features 30 fences over 4 miles 2½ furlongs. The bonus scheme is part of William Hill’s new role as an Official Betting Partner of The Jockey Club.
