Jadon Sancho named Premier League's biggest-ever flop in Express poll
Sancho voted Premier League's biggest-ever flop by Express readers

Express Sport readers have decided that Jadon Sancho is the Premier League's biggest flop of all time. The former Manchester United winger received 37 per cent of the vote in a poll asking who they would name as the Premier League's biggest disappointment.

Sancho is currently without a club after being released by the Red Devils last summer. Manchester United spent £73m to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021, having pursued his signature for several years.

Sancho's struggles at Old Trafford

He never managed to make his mark at Old Trafford and was heavily criticised for his attitude away from the pitch. Sancho's former United team-mate Antony finished in second place, receiving 24 per cent of the vote, with Florian Wirtz in third.

Mykhaylo Mudryk finished fourth with 12 per cent of the vote, ahead of ex-Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe (seven per cent) and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku (four per cent).

Wirtz's difficult Liverpool spell

Wirtz only received 16 per cent of the vote in the poll. The Germany international has struggled to perform for Liverpool since moving to Anfield in a blockbuster £116m deal last summer.

He looks a shadow of his former self in the Premier League and was recently called out by former Reds defender Jamie Carragher, who pleaded with Andoni Iraola to take him out of the firing line.

Unlike many of the others, Wirtz still has the opportunity to reverse his reputation and will be hoping to find some form at Liverpool over the course of this season. However, if he continues to struggle on a weekly basis, he will be remembered as one of the worst big-money signings in Premier League history.
