Jonas Abrahamsen of Uno-X Mobility won a chaotic stage 11 of the Tour de France in Toulouse, beating Mauro Schmid in a sprint finish after a day of high drama. The Norwegian, who broke his collarbone four weeks ago, described the victory as a dream come true.
The stage was marred by a crash involving Tadej Pogacar with 4km to go, though the Slovenian quickly remounted and was able to finish. In the final straight, an anti-Israel protester ran onto the course wearing a T-shirt reading 'Israel out of the Tour' before being tackled by security.
Mathieu van der Poel finished third at seven seconds, with Arnaud De Lie and Wout van Aert completing the top five. Ben Healy retained the yellow jersey after the GC group crossed 3 minutes 28 seconds behind the winner.
Abrahamsen, who cried in hospital after his collarbone injury, said: 'I was thinking I have to win this stage... It was my dream to win a stage of the Tour de France.' He added that he had to be 'smart and not go over the limit' in the sprint.
