Laura Kenny Breastfeeds Baby After Completing London Marathon

Olympic cyclist Laura Kenny breastfed her baby daughter Lily shortly after finishing the London Marathon on Sunday. The 34-year-old, who is married to fellow cycling star Jason Kenny, completed the 26.2-mile race in 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Kenny ran to raise funds for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, a cause she described as 'so close to our hearts'. She suffered a miscarriage in November 2021 and an ectopic pregnancy five months later, which required emergency surgery.

Sharing a photo of herself nursing Lily after the event on Instagram, she wrote: 'LONDON MARATHON - completed it. Not even going to pretend I enjoyed it because I absolutely did not!' She added that she ran for a cause 'so close to our hearts' and would continue to share her story to help others.

In an interview with Stylist, Kenny spoke about the 'never-ending grief' following her ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. She said it was 'the lowest I've ever felt in my life' and that her relationship with Jason was at its weakest, with constant arguments over trivial matters.

Kenny revealed that a difficult conversation with her husband helped them heal. 'Yes, it was my body and my life at risk, but he lost those babies too,' she said. The couple planted a rosebush with an angel plaque next to their son's playroom to mark their loss.
