Goodwood Day 2 tips: Garry Owen naps Gstaad

Sussex Stakes: Gstaad (4:10)

Garry Owen's nap for Day 2 is Gstaad, trained by Aidan O'Brien, in the Sussex Stakes. The three-year-old developed into one of the best two-year-olds last season and after a close defeat to Bow Echo in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, he can finally turn the tables. Gstaad previously won the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

Coral Shaker Handicap: Hatteen (1:50)

Andrew Balding excels at Goodwood, so Hatteen is tipped in the trappy Coral Shaker Handicap. The three-year-old showed promise over 1m 2f and relished 1m 4f when winning at Doncaster. He looks potentially Group-class.

Alice Keppel Conditions Stakes: Fast Track (2:25)

Balding can enjoy a double with Fast Track in the Alice Keppel Conditions Stakes. The two-year-old handled the track on debut and after a close second at Nottingham, she won impressively at Beverley. She looks the safest option.

Oak Tree Stakes: Planet Seeker (3:00)

Ralph Beckett targets this venue, so Planet Seeker is selected. The filly won on debut at Goodwood and has improved, winning at Newmarket. She looks ready for Group 3 level.

Molecombe Stakes: Adonius (3:35)

Rebecca Menzies' Adonius can land the Molecombe Stakes. The juvenile won impressively at Musselburgh and then took a step up in class at Chester, winning comfortably. He remains upwardly mobile.

Charlton Handicap: Under The Twilight (5:00)

Michael Blake's Under The Twilight can hit the target in the Charlton Handicap. The mare lost her way after a close second at this meeting last year but returned to form with a win at Windsor. She will have been aimed at this race.

World Pool Handicap: Crimson Spirit (5:40)

Crimson Spirit can resume winning ways for Team Kubler in the World Pool Handicap. The gelding showed a revival after a poor spell and won over track and trip. He remains fairly treated under Ryan Moore.

Garry's Double: Gstaad (NAP) and Adonius.
