Tyson Fury Hints at Boxing Comeback with Thailand Training Videos
Tyson Fury drops major comeback hint with new videos

Former two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has sent the boxing world into a frenzy by strongly hinting at a potential return to the ring.

Training in Thailand Fuels Comeback Rumours

The 'Gypsy King', who announced a shock retirement in January 2025 after consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, has posted several videos from a gym in Thailand. The footage, shared with his millions of followers, shows the 37-year-old from Morecambe working hard on his skills at the ISS Boxing and Muay Thai gym in Pattaya City.

"This is how I spent my new year. Grinding & working my a** off! couldn’t think of anything better to do than this!" Fury wrote on Instagram. He added the post was "All in the name of Jesus," signalling a focused and dedicated mindset away from new year celebrations.

Heavyweight Landscape in Fury's Absence

Since Fury's retirement, the heavyweight division has moved forward. Oleksandr Usyk solidified his legacy by knocking out Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in July 2025 in front of over 90,000 fans, becoming a two-time undisputed champion. Furthermore, Fabio Wardley was promoted to full champion in October 2025 after defeating Joseph Parker.

In one of his recent videos, Fury is seen engaging in light sparring with fellow heavyweight Kevin Lerena. Lerena, 33, is also seeking a return to form after a loss to Lawrence Okolie on the Usyk-Dubois undercard last July.

Joshua Clash in Doubt After Tragic Crash

Speculation about Fury's return had been building, with recent reports suggesting a highly-anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua was in the works for 2026, preceded by tune-up fights for both men.

However, those plans are now in serious doubt after Anthony Joshua was involved in a tragic car crash in Nigeria. The incident claimed the lives of Joshua's close friends, Sina Ghami and Kevin Latif Ayodele, with AJ sustaining only minor injuries.

Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, has admitted the potential super-fight may be delayed. "Well, boxing will certainly be the last thing on his [Joshua's] mind, right now," Warren told The Mirror. He ruled out a fight as early as initially planned in 2026, stating, "I don't know the extent of his injuries, but it's also how mentally this will affect him."

This is not the first time Fury has trained in Thailand ahead of a major bout, having visited a gym there months before his rematch with Usyk. Whether this latest trip signals a definitive comeback remains to be seen, but the 'Gypsy King' is certainly putting the work in, leaving the door wide open for a dramatic return to the sport.
