Andrew Tate Rules Out Jake Paul Fight After Defeat, But Won't Retire
Tate U-turns on Jake Paul fight after DeMoor loss

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has performed a significant U-turn, ruling out a potential blockbuster boxing match against Jake Paul following his debut defeat in the ring last weekend. Despite the loss, Tate has made it clear he is not hanging up his gloves just yet.

Debut Defeat in Dubai

Stepping into the boxing world for the first time, Andrew Tate faced Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor in Dubai. The fight, which took place last weekend, did not go the former kickboxer's way. Tate appeared to fade in the later rounds, ultimately losing on two of the three judges' scorecards, with the third scoring the bout a draw.

This debut defeat immediately sparked speculation about Tate's future in the sport, with the influencer himself hinting at possible retirement after just one professional fight. The loss came on the same night that Jake Paul suffered his second career defeat, knocked out by Anthony Joshua in Miami.

A Change of Heart on Jake Paul

Reacting to fan suggestions on social media platform X that he should now face Jake Paul, Tate delivered a surprising response that marked a clear shift from his previous bravado. "I'm not ready for Jake," Tate stated. "Time is the fire in which we all burn. Fighting is for young men."

This stance is a far cry from his position in 2024, when Tate and Paul engaged in a mock face-off and discussions about a potential fight were reportedly underway. Tate revealed that these talks were halted due to his arrest on suspicion of human trafficking and rape. "There was a time when he and I were talking about fighting," Tate said. "I think if this arrest didn't happen, it probably would have come to flourish."

Despite his newfound reluctance, Tate left a sliver of possibility open for the future, suggesting he could be the one to "teach him a lesson" if needed. He also gave Paul credit for his impact on the sport, particularly for his ability to generate public interest and lucrative purses.

No Retirement on the Horizon

Following his bloody defeat to DeMoor, Tate was careful not to make any hasty decisions about his boxing career. He emphasised the need for a temperate approach in the emotional aftermath of a loss.

"If the stars align, yeah I'm not saying I'll retire," Tate commented. He explained his immediate plans involved returning home to his family, allowing his injuries to heal, and then assessing his options. His comments strongly indicate that, while a mega-fight with Jake Paul is off the table for now, fans may not have seen the last of Andrew Tate in the boxing ring.

Jake Paul, for his part, has previously expressed supreme confidence in a match-up with Tate, claiming he would win "very, very quickly" and has in the past accused Tate of being "scared" to fight him or his brother Logan.
