Fury Sr Fires Back at Paul's 'Daddy's Little Boy' Taunt
John Fury has unleashed a blistering verbal assault on Jake Paul after the social media star took aim at his son, Tommy Fury. The explosive reaction comes after Paul announced his next professional bout against two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer claimed several fighters had been offered the opportunity to face him, including Tommy Fury, who Paul accused of turning down a substantial $15 million offer. In a social media post that sparked the fury, Paul wrote: "Guess who didn't say yes even for $15M. B*** made you and your father are, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy's little boy."
Travel Restrictions and Broken Promises
John Fury was quick to respond with a video message, explaining their side of the story. The 60-year-old boxing patriarch revealed that travel restrictions preventing entry to the United States were the primary reason the fight couldn't proceed as offered.
"We're not running from you," Fury Sr stated emphatically. "We offered to box you right next door to you in Canada. Anywhere in Canada because we cannot get to America, and you knew we could not get there."
The elder Fury also questioned Paul's credibility, referencing previous financial agreements that he claims weren't honoured. "Did we or did we not bet you $3million on national TV in front of the world's media, and what did you do? You welched. You did not pay," he alleged.
Tommy Fury Adds His Voice to the Feud
Tommy Fury, who defeated Paul in their 2023 encounter, also responded to the social media taunts. The British fighter challenged Paul to make the same financial offer for a bout outside America.
"Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can't get to right now. Convenient," Fury wrote. "Offer me the same $15M anywhere else in the world and I'll be there in eight weeks to shut you the f*** up and repeat what I did the first time."
Joshua vs Paul: The Confirmed Showdown
While the Fury-Paul rematch remains uncertain, Paul's next fight is officially confirmed. He will face Anthony Joshua on December 19 in Miami in a professional heavyweight contest.
The event represents a significant step up in competition for Paul, who was originally scheduled to fight Gervonta Davis last Friday before that bout was cancelled due to legal issues facing Davis.
The Joshua-Paul showdown is set to be broadcast live on Netflix, with ring walks expected around 11pm local time (4am UK time) on December 19, just six days before Christmas.
