Tyson Fury injury concern raised ahead of Anthony Joshua bout
Fury injury concern raised ahead of Joshua mega-fight

Frank Bruno has suggested that Tyson Fury may be carrying an injury that could force him to pull out of his December 11 meeting with Anthony Joshua at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The former heavyweight world champion said he heard concerning rumours in the gym, casting doubt on the all-British showdown that is expected to settle the pair's decade-long feud.

Bruno's Gym Rumours

Speaking on Fight Your Corner, in partnership with Midnite, Bruno and ex-cruiserweight Tony Bellew were discussing Joshua's chances of beating Fury when Bruno raised the injury concern. "I looked at him the other day and I think someone was talking to me in the gym that he's got some injury, which may stop him from going into the fight with Anthony Joshua? And having that on your head ain't nice," he said.

Bellew responded by suggesting Fury's behaviour was part of his pre-fight strategy: "He plays up to the camera, Frank. I think he wants to, you know, he's going to be saying certain things. I do think Tyson Fury is the master of the mind games. Yeah, he's very, very good at it. Very, very good at the mind games."

Joshua's Path to Victory

Earlier in the conversation, Bruno praised Joshua, saying: "He's a very, very good guy, Anthony Joshua. He's got a puncher's chance against Fury, but Fury is a very difficult guy." Bellew added: "You've summed it up perfectly. I think that AJ doesn't win this fight on points. He can only win it by knockout. And I think Tyson Fury is a very good boxer, but he's shown vulnerabilities and he's only getting at this age and at this part of your career, you're not getting quicker. You're only getting slower."

Fury's Pre-Fight Antics

Discussing Fury's behaviour at press conferences, Bruno said: "I see him at the press conferences and he really says crazy things that get right under your skin. Very controversial what he says, and no one's ever going to agree with everything he says, but one thing that we can all agree on is he's a world-class fighter. Yeah, he's a brilliant boxer. Very, very good. I mean, it's abnormal that he can move the way he moves at 20 stone."

As of yet, Fury has given no indication that he will pull out of the bout. The card is starting to shape up after it was announced on Wednesday afternoon that cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia will move up to heavyweight to face former champion Deontay Wilder.
