Tommy Fury rejects Jake Paul's $15m rematch claim
Fury hits back at Paul's $15m rematch claim

British boxer Tommy Fury has publicly clapped back at social media star Jake Paul after being accused of turning down a massive $15 million offer for a highly anticipated boxing rematch.

The Social Media Accusation

The war of words ignited on Tuesday when Jake Paul took to his X account, formerly known as Twitter, to make a bold claim. He stated that one of his rivals had refused a staggering $15 million to face him in the ring, taunting the unnamed fighter by calling him "daddy's little boy".

This public jab came just one day after Paul made a separate major announcement, revealing that he is set to fight former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. That bout is scheduled for 19 December in Miami.

Fury's Fiery Response

Tommy Fury, who defeated Paul by split decision in their first encounter in February 2023, did not hesitate to identify himself as the target of Paul's post and issue a swift rebuttal.

Fury confirmed that a rematch offer was indeed presented to him. However, he was quick to clarify a critical detail, stating the proposed fight was to be held in the United States. Fury emphasised that the US is "a place you know I can't get to right now", alluding to apparent travel restrictions or visa issues that prevent him from competing there.

Conditions for a Rematch

Despite rejecting the US-based offer, Fury made it clear he is not avoiding a second fight. He challenged Paul to meet him "anywhere else in the world".

In a display of readiness, Fury also stated he would be prepared to take the fight on just eight weeks' notice. This response shifts the narrative, framing the situation not as a refusal to fight, but as a dispute over the location.

The boxing world continues to wait to see if the two personalities can settle their differences and arrange a second showdown, following their closely contested first fight which left fans demanding a rematch.
