Jeremy Clarkson nearly suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the National Television Awards, blaming his weight-loss injection Mounjaro for his sliding trousers. The 65-year-old Clarkson's Farm presenter was collecting the Best Factual Entertainment award at London's O2 Arena when he admitted the issue on stage.
“Thank you, everybody,” he told the audience. “I should explain I’m on Mounjaro… my trousers are falling down.” After a failed attempt to hitch them up, his partner Lisa Hogan stepped in to hold them in place while he continued his speech. “Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up while I make a very short speech,” he joked.
Clarkson has been open about his health struggles. He previously tried Ozempic but suffered severe sickness, quipping it made him feel like a “bulimic Henry VIII” while actually gaining half a stone. In March, he revealed he switched to Mounjaro, an NHS-approved weight-loss injection, which he said he was “microdosing.” Writing in The Times, he described how the drug curbed his appetite: “When you’re on Muntjac, you can come down in the morning and idly help yourself to a small handful of sunflower seeds. And it’ll feel like you’ve just finished a massive Christmas lunch.”
Despite the drug reducing his chocolate cravings, he confessed to indulging in snail caviar instead. Clarkson has also taken up Reformer Pilates to lose weight, joking he doesn’t “unenjoy” it “mostly because it’s done in slow motion.” Last October, he had a stent fitted to his heart after a “sudden deterioration” in his health, which he noticed while on holiday. He said he is now doing “everything in his power to not die” to spend more time with his grandchildren.
