New York Knicks center and defensive stalwart Mitchell Robinson is set to be available for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Robinson underwent surgery last week after breaking his right pinkie, and he had been seen wearing a brace on the injured hand. However, prior to Wednesday’s tip-off in San Antonio, Robinson was observed without the brace, even using his right hand to greet fans courtside during pre-game warmups, as captured in video shared by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix.
Fans reacted with enthusiasm to the news. One Knicks supporter wrote on X, “Having surgery on your hand and then choosing to go up against Wembanyama a few days later is a special kind of brave.”
