Adam Peaty has legally changed his surname to Ramsay-Peaty after marrying Holly Ramsay in December 2025, and will compete under the new name at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Wedding Drama
The couple married at Bath Abbey amid a much-publicised rift between their families. A scuffle broke out outside the venue involving photographers, with Holly and her father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, caught in the middle.
Name Change
The Team GB star now goes by Adam Ramsay-Peaty. This is the name under which he will compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, his fourth appearance at the event.
Baby on the Way
Adam and Holly announced earlier this year they are expecting a baby daughter in December, leaving him "incredibly excited". It will be Holly's first child, though Adam, 31, has a son named George from a previous relationship.
Focus on Sport
Peaty has urged people to let his swimming do the talking in Glasgow. "That’s the beauty of sport. If you can find that state of mind, it’s an incredible place to be," he told The Independent. "That's the Adam people should see – the racer. Everything else is my private life."
Commonwealth Games Schedule
Adam Ramsay-Peaty will take part in the 100m breaststroke heats on Friday. Semifinals follow Friday night, with the final on Saturday evening.
Commonwealth Games Record
The Olympic champion has won multiple Commonwealth golds: gold in the 100m breaststroke in 2014 and 2018, plus gold and two silvers in the 50m breaststroke, and gold and silver in the 4x100 medley.
