Dramatic video footage has emerged capturing the shocking moment a woman launched a furious attack on a council bin lorry in the heart of London. The incident, which took place in Westminster, has been referred to the Metropolitan Police after the woman was seen causing significant damage to the vehicle during a heated confrontation.
The clip shows the woman in a bright pink top and black leggings in a stand-off with the refuse workers. The situation quickly escalates as she leaps onto the front of the large truck, grabbing hold of the windscreen wiper. In a brazen act of vandalism, she uses her entire body weight to snap the wiper clean off the vehicle.
Not content with the destruction, the woman then proceeds to kick the front of the lorry repeatedly before storming off, leaving the stunned workers to assess the damage. The entire altercation was captured on video, which has since circulated online, drawing widespread condemnation.
A spokesperson for the Westminster City Council condemned the act, stating: "This kind of behaviour towards our hardworking staff is completely unacceptable. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse and violence of any kind. The incident has been reported to the police and we are supporting our team members."
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating the incident, appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Such attacks on public service workers not only cause costly damage to essential equipment but also create a climate of fear for those carrying out their duties.
