Mick and Mairead Philpott, along with their friend Paul Mosley, have been found guilty of the manslaughter of the Philpotts' six children, who died in a house fire in Derby. The jury delivered unanimous verdicts against Mick Philpott and Mosley, while Mairead Philpott was convicted by a majority verdict.
The blaze broke out at the family home on Victory Road, claiming the lives of five children on the morning of the fire. A sixth child succumbed to injuries three days later in hospital. The court heard that the fire was deliberately set, leading to the tragic deaths.
The convictions mark the culmination of a lengthy trial that has drawn widespread attention. Sentencing is expected to be handed down at a later date.
