A EuroMillions winner has yet to claim a £1m prize, with the deadline for the ticket purchased in Birmingham just days away. The ticket, bought on 15 August 2025, carries the code VLPL 28287, and the prize must be claimed by midnight on Wednesday 11 February.
The prize is one of seven unclaimed National Lottery winnings, totalling over £14m. Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, urged anyone who may have bought a ticket in or around Birmingham around that time to check their belongings. “Maybe it isn’t even a local winner,” he said, encouraging people to “check your pockets”.
If the prize remains unclaimed, the money and interest will go to National Lottery-funded projects across the UK. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim, and can contact the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk.
This follows the record £195m EuroMillions jackpot won by a UK ticket-holder in July 2022, and the £184m win by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester in May 2022. Joe, then a communications sales engineer, described waking up to the news: “I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t go back to sleep.”
