The UK announced further sanctions and a suspension of trade negotiations with Israel on Tuesday, condemning what Foreign Secretary David Lammy described as a 'monstrous' 11-week aid blockade and renewed military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Mr Lammy imposed financial restrictions and travel bans on three individuals and four entities involved in the settler movement, including prominent settler leader Daniella Weiss, two illegal outposts, and two organisations accused of supporting violence against Palestinian communities.
The measures come amid international condemnation of Israel's actions, with the UN warning that the entire population of Gaza is on the brink of starvation. The UK has also summoned Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely to the Foreign Office.
The UK has suspended about 30 arms export licenses to Israel since September 2023, though fighter jet parts remain excluded. Human rights groups are challenging the legality of those sales in the High Court.
In a joint statement, the UK, France, and Canada said they would 'not hesitate to take further action' against settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
