UK Bank Holidays 2026-2027: Substitute Dates Confirmed

Millions of people across the UK spend months waiting for a bank holiday weekend. Many hope to make the most of an extra day off work, whether that be to have a well-deserved lie-in or perhaps head out for a late summer day trip. The opportunities are endless when it comes to a bank holiday weekend.

But after this weekend, the next bank holiday will not take place until Christmas Day, which occurs on Friday, December 25. This year, Boxing Day (December 26) falls on a Saturday. This means a bank holiday has been scheduled for Monday, December 28 as a substitute.
