Iranian military spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari directly addressed US President Donald Trump during a recent Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) operational update, telling him “you’re fired.”
“Hey Trump - you’re fired. You’re familiar with this sentence,” said Zolfaghari at the end of the address, which was circulated by Iranian state media on Sunday. He signed off with “Thank you for your attention to this matter. The Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya,” a nod to Trump’s traditional social media valediction.
Iran’s foreign ministry has dismissed Trump’s claim that his administration is engaged in “productive” talks to end the war in Iran. On Monday, the ministry suggested the US president is only trying to reassure inflamed energy markets and buy time for his military plans.
