Trump 'fragile ego' exposed after Melania hand grab

Donald Trump has been accused of trying to assert his dominance over his wife, Melania, after a body language expert analysed an awkward hand-holding moment during a recent White House appearance. The US President appeared alongside the First Lady on Monday as he signed an executive order establishing a new division focused on women's health at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), alongside a White House task force dedicated to the issue.

New Women's Health Division Announced

The new division is intended to work alongside the NIH's existing Office of Research on Women's Health, which was established in 1990. Under the order, the new unit must be created within an appropriate NIH institute or centre within 90 days. The proposed research priorities include cardiovascular disease, cancer, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, menopause, Alzheimer's disease and osteoporosis.

The White House task force will be led by White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, who recently announced that she is cancer-free, and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Awkward Moment Analysed

However, the moment quickly turned painfully awkward as Melania appeared to dodge Trump's attempt to kiss her. The President also grabbed her hand with both of his, prompting a body-language expert to question what the interaction revealed about their dynamic.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman suggested Trump was desperately trying to assert dominance as Melania took centre stage. The expert claimed the President's behaviour reflected what she described as his "fragile ego", arguing that he appeared keen to maintain a position of authority even during moments when Melania was receiving attention.

She pointed to the couple's walk towards the Rose Garden, their positioning at the podium and a seemingly uncomfortable exchange as Trump took Melania by the hand. According to the expert, the President repeatedly positioned himself slightly ahead of his wife in order to "assert dominance."

Expert's Observations on Body Language

Inbaal Honigman said: "When all eyes are on Melania, Donald’s fragile ego tries to compete.

"During their initial stroll toward the Rose Garden, the couple walk side by side, but the President is just a little ahead of the First Lady. He leans forward, showing that he is the one leading the relationship.

"Their positioning is much the same at the podium: they are almost shoulder to shoulder, but Donald stands slightly ahead of Melania, emphasising his superiority. If the President can’t let his wife be his equal even when they walk and stand together, then he can’t accept her as his equal in official roles.

"Even when they both raise a hand to wave, the President’s hand rises a few inches higher than his wife’s. Interestingly, Melania keeps hers a little lower, letting Donald take charge.

The expert, speaking exclusively via casino.guru/canada, added: "The most interesting moment is their awkward hand-holding, when the President takes an uncomfortable Melania by the hand. Her unease is evident in the unusual angle of her bent wrist, indicating that their physical interactions are misaligned.

"One of Donald’s hands is underneath Melania’s, gripping and leading it, while his other hand rests above hers, asserting dominance. When a couple hold hands, the physical upper hand belongs to the more dominant person, the one who also has the upper hand mentally in the relationship.

"This awkward contact between the Trumps symbolises the President’s attempt to assert his dominance, driven by his discomfort with all the attention Melania is receiving."
