Far-right activist Tommy Robinson was at the centre of a major security alert in central Scotland on Sunday after making an unannounced visit to a Falkirk pub, prompting a significant police response.
Officers from Police Scotland were forced to intervene and escort the English Defence League founder from the premises on Victoria Road. His presence had reportedly caused considerable alarm amongst staff and patrons, creating a potentially volatile situation.
The incident occurred just hours before Labour leader Keir Starmer was scheduled to speak at a separate event in the same town. While police confirmed they were aware of Robinson's movements, they stated there was no direct link between his appearance and the Labour leader's visit, treating them as distinct security operations.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed their involvement, stating: "We were made aware of a man in a licensed premises on Victoria Road, Falkirk, around 12.55 pm on Sunday, 2 June. Officers attended and the man left a short time later. There were no reports of any criminality."
