The 2026 summer transfer window has closed, bringing an end to a period of heavy spending across the Premier League. Every club was active, with several breaking their transfer records, and the window finished with a busy deadline day on Tuesday involving the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Deadline day and summer business
Manchester City completed the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £90m, while Tottenham secured Savio from City for £85m and Omar Marmoush on loan. Spurs also signed Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for £100m and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52m.
Arsenal brought in Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle for £75m and Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for £51m, while Chelsea signed Morgan Rogers from Villa for £117m. Liverpool paid a club-record £123m for Bradley Barcola from PSG.
Notable moves across the league
Manchester United signed Carlos Baleba from Brighton for £65m and Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48m. Newcastle paid £116m to City for Elliot Anderson, while Aston Villa sold Ollie Watkins to Al-Hilal and Emi Martinez to Chelsea for £7.5m.
Leeds signed James Trafford from City for £40m, and Everton brought in Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough for £25m. Ipswich paid £20m for Abdul Fatawu from Leicester.
Free transfers and departures
Several high-profile players left on free transfers, including Mohamed Salah, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Andrew Robertson. James Milner retired, while Rodri moved to Barcelona for £51m and Anthony Gordon joined Barcelona for £60.5m.
