Paraag Marathe has returned to Rangers following his departure from the San Francisco 49ers, with a dual focus on the Ibrox club and Leeds United now beginning.
Return to Rangers confirmed
Marathe had previously served as Rangers' vice-chairman but stepped down in March to avoid falling foul of UEFA's dual ownership rules. He is also chairman at Leeds United, who are owned by 49ers Enterprises, so vacated his seat on the Gers board before the March deadline in case the Elland Road club also qualified for the Europa League.
That followed talks with UEFA to seek clarity on the situation that could have potentially arisen. Earlier this month, Marathe left his role as 49ers vice president of football operations after 25 years to focus on his roles with both clubs.
More active role expected
His return to Rangers has now been confirmed after a submission was made to Companies House. Marathe is set to take a more active role after initially being front and centre of the American takeover of the Ibrox club last summer.
The new regime are already on their third manager in just over 12 months after the sacking of Russell Martin, Danny Rohl's departure to RB Salzburg and the appointment of Derek McInnes.
