Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly have different ideas about where their children should be educated. The couple, who moved to the US in 2020, are raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in California, with Meghan said to be set on continuing their studies in America.
Different Views on Schooling
Meghan previously shared that both children attend separate schools close to their home in Montecito, likely due to their two-year age difference, with Archie born in 2019 and Lilibet in 2021. However, it has now been reported that the couple do not share the same mindset about their children's education.
Speaking to Closer, a source said: "Harry can’t rule out a British education. He wants his children to have a meaningful connection with that side of their family. He’d prefer the kids to attend a mixed school, and has even explored the possibility of a day-pupil arrangement."
Meghan's Stance
Discussing how Meghan feels, the source added: "Culturally, LA is where Meghan feels comfortable - she never took to the stuffiness of England. It’s hard to imagine her agreeing to uproot the life she’s built in California."
In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan stated that she could not envision sending Archie and Lilibet to school in the UK. She explained that dropping Archie, who was born in the UK, at a British school would mean facing massive paparazzi attention, telling the publication: "Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child from a royal press photo-call of 40 people."
The 45-year-old previously said it takes her two-and-a-half hours to drop both of her children off at school before travelling home.
