Manchester United completed seven signings during the summer transfer window, with 24 exits also confirmed, following a quiet deadline day on Monday.
Head coach Michael Carrick had hoped to secure last-minute additions, but no new arrivals materialised. Left-back was a priority position, yet United did not pursue Newcastle's Lewis Hall, leaving limited options. Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas was considered, but despite his proposed move to Atletico Madrid collapsing, United opted against triggering his £14million release clause. Barcelona's Alejandro Balde was also not pursued.
Deadline day moves fall through
United enquired about Manchester City's Rayan Ait-Nouri after his agent approached the club, but City made it clear the Algerian was not for sale. Leicester's Louis Page was another target, but that deal collapsed due to a gap in valuations.
A temporary exit for Chido Obi remains possible, with clubs in the Netherlands and Denmark interested. Young left-back Harry Amass has stayed and could get minutes under Carrick until January.
