Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne and former deputy prime minister, returns to her previous position as Housing Secretary. Rayner was reportedly keen to return to the front line of Government after being cleared by HMRC earlier this year following a dispute over her tax affairs.
Jonathan Reynolds, MP for Stalybridge, has been appointed Business Secretary, while Lisa Nandy, MP for Wigan, remains Culture Secretary. These four MPs represent key constituencies in Greater Manchester and bring regional experience to the cabinet.
