Reform UK has recruited Colin Sutton, the former senior detective who led the investigation into serial killer Levi Bellfield, as its police and crime adviser. Sutton will help Nigel Farage's party develop its pledge to halve crime within five years.
Farage has committed to spending £7 billion on policies to achieve this goal, including recruiting 30,000 additional police officers. He described Sutton as a 'huge asset' to the party.
Sutton has proposed giving all frontline officers tasers, reopening 300 closed police stations, and ending investigations into online arguments as part of Reform's policing offer. The two men are set to appear together at a press conference on Monday morning.
