Police are searching for 11 people suspected of violent disorder following the far-right 'unite the kingdom' march in London on Saturday, with eight individuals already charged in connection with the event.
The Metropolitan Police said the march, led by activist Tommy Robinson, attracted more than 110,000 people, exceeding expectations. A counter-protest of around 5,000 also took place, and officers came under attack, mainly from those in the main march. Twenty-six police officers were injured and 24 arrests were made on the day.
Detective Chief Inspector Natalie Norris, from the Met's public order crime team, said: "Since Saturday, our teams have been working to identify those involved in any criminality. Our post-event investigation is ongoing and officers have trawled through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and continue to review evidence to help with enquiries."
Among the offences alleged are kicks and punches aimed at officers, as well as bottles, flares and other projectiles thrown at them. The Met said concerted attempts were made to get past barriers. Of those already arrested, the average age was 39, with the oldest being 58 and the youngest 19.
Eleven people have been bailed and eight charged for offences including assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage and breaches of public order. Those charged come from Glasgow, Sandwell, Hampshire, Rochester in Kent, Barnstaple in Devon, Uxbridge in west London, and two from Essex.
